This role will focus on: An ideal opportunity to further develop your accounting experience in a dynamic and fast-paced finance team. A core part of the role includes responsibility for accurate and timely accounting of owned and leased fixed assets, staff costs, accruals/prepayments along with associated journals, balance sheet reconciliations and internal controls. The role is also responsible for preparation of internal and external tax deliverables and compliance including VAT and Corporation Tax.

Key Accountabilities include:

Ownership of the fixed asset register including additions, disposals, depreciation, verification and fixed asset reporting including monthly movement bridge, capex tracker and large capex reporting. Lease accounting under IFRS 16. Staff costs including analysis of actuals vs forecast by department. Month end accruals and prepayments for 3rd party and intercompany. Internal reporting submissions for foreign currency transactions and treasury. Supporting the Financial Reporting Manager with preparing the statutory financial statements. Month end journals and balance sheet reconciliations. Issue of intercompany recharge invoices, sending customer statements and reconciling balances with other Group companies. Ensuring financial controls are completed in line with the Group Financial Controls framework. Preparation and submission of Office of National Statistics forms. Employee expenses. Completion of due diligence checks for suppliers and customers. Supporting the external audit process. Prepare and submit VAT returns to HMRC including review and reconciliation of Postponed VAT and CDS statements. Preparing the corporation tax return for internal and external statutory reporting. Ownership of the tax risk registers to ensure they are up to date.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

AAT or Chartered Accountant with commercial experience in a financial role. Strong technical accountant with experience in IFRS. Experience of journals and balance sheet reconciliations. Experience of internal management accounts and/or external statutory financial reporting. Understanding of fixed assets including accounting, controls and processes for additions and disposals.
