Our client, a market leading PLC with offices in Cheshire, is searching for an experienced Financial Accountant to join their team.

This role will lead and manage the Revenue team while providing technical accounting expertise to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, enhance financial reporting, and improve operational processes. This role is integral to maintaining accurate revenue recognition, regulatory compliance, and effective collaboration with external auditors and stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities will include the following:

Manage and lead a team of three, providing coaching, development support, and performance management. Oversee month-end revenue recognition, ensuring accurate reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis. Prepare and submit regulatory reports related to revenue. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the accounting framework to ensure accurate revenue recognition and robust documentation. Act as the primary contact for external auditors concerning revenue-related matters. Drive continuous improvement in revenue-related processes, identifying efficiencies in collaboration with the Revenue and broader Finance teams. Provide guidance on financial compliance, processes, and policies to the wider Finance team and business. Prepare accounting policy papers in line with IFRS standards, presenting complex issues clearly to inform business decisions. Regularly update and improve the organisation's accounting policies manual. Desirable Attributes:

Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). Experience of IFRS reporting standards. Experience in financial services, wealth management, or a similar regulated industry. Advanced knowledge of accounting systems and tools to streamline financial processes.
