MacArthur Recruitment is seeking a

Financial Accountant

to join a successful manufacturing business based in North-West Cumbria.

Reporting to the Finance Director, the main purpose of the role is to produce the Management and Statutory Accounts of the client, ensuring that the information supplied is timely, accurate and compliant with UK legislation. There is a career progression and the likelihood that the right person will be potentially taking over from the Finance Director / FD in 3 to 5 years' time.

Person Specification for the role of Financial Accountant:

Bachelor's degree - required Qualified Accountant (preferred) or working towards (depending on experience) Demonstrable experience in finance and strong attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills at all levels internal and external Self-motivated, strategic thinker with the ability to problem-solve Advanced understanding of spreadsheets, Excel and databases Knowledge of accounting terms and concepts Understanding of finance regulations and legislation Knowledge of business strategy and methodology Analytical skills, critical thinking skills, organisational skills

Principal Accountabilities for the role of Financial Accountant: Management Accounts

To ensure production of the monthly management accounts To ensure the accounts are accurate and completed in a timely fashion to allow a management accounts package to be produced within the reporting deadline.

Statutory Accounts

To produce year end and statutory accounts package for audit on a timely and consistent basis in line with legislation. To maintain knowledge of changes and upcoming legislation (Corporation Tax, VAT, etc.), ensuring the business remains compliant and up to date. Production of P11d Reports, Personal Incidental Expenses (PIEs) reports, etc.

Capital Register

To Maintain and update the Company Capital Register Reconciling and resolving and queries

Produce Monthly Royalty Reports Prepare Company Sales Forecasts

Liaising with Sales Director, General Manager Collating and facilitating production of a weekly report

Account Reconciliation

To produce control account reconciliations on a monthly basis as necessary Ensure debtors and creditors are balanced monthly to the G/L Liaising with Accounts Manager

Insurance renewal and review

To produce the information required for the annual insurance renewal To be the custodian of the business insurance policies and procedures

Contribute to ad hoc projects and initiatives as required.
