Our client is seeking a Financial Accountant for a fixed-term contract to cover a period of maternity leave up to 12 months.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in a wide variety of work, including assisting with year-end audits, preparing statutory accounts, and maintaining long-term strategic plans. You will also be involved in the preparation of UK and Irish VAT returns, liaising with tax advisors, and providing analysis for the review of Group Transfer Pricing Policy.
What you'll do:
Assist with preparation of year-end statutory accounts ensuring full compliance with FRS102.
Prepare Balance Sheet and Cashflow for inclusion in the monthly board pack.
Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC’s Making Tax Digital requirements.
Assist with the update of the strategic plan as directed by the Financial Controller.
Prepare the rolling 12 month cashflow forecast for review by the Financial Controller.
Support Financial Controller with any ad hoc tasks.
What you bring:
(CIMA, ACA, ACCA or recognised equivalents)
Experience of finance systems such as Sage 1000, SAP or similar
Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical skills and initiative in problem solving
Good planning and organisational skills
Ability to work under pressure while ensuring timely delivery of duties
Strong aptitude for business process improvement
Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentational)
Customer focused approach
