An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to oversee key financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting processes. This role involves effective team management, development, and coordination of financial reporting and regulatory activities. Key Responsibilities of a Financial Accountant: Maintain and account for fixed assets, ensuring accurate records. Prepare and post month-end journals, meeting deadlines. Reconcile balance sheet control accounts, resolving discrepancies. Review and prepare monthly accruals reconciliations. Assist with year-end accounts and audit queries. Complete regulatory reports, including CT61 and Gender Pay Report. Oversee year-end stock-taking and reporting. Analyse financial data and create management reports. Manage and support a team, balancing workloads and development. Drive process improvements for efficiency and accuracy. Perform other tasks as directed by senior management. Key Skills of a Financial Accountant: Fully qualified in CIMA or ACCA (or 3+ years of post-qualification experience) would be desirable. Strong knowledge of management accounts, treasury, and ledger processes. High attention to detail with strong numeracy and analytical skills. Proactive and capable of working independently or in a team. Strong leadership skills with team management experience. Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities. Proficient in Excel and Word; Sage 200 knowledge is a plus. Collaborative and solutions-focused, driving continuous improvements.
