Weybridge, Surrey, UK (Office based) This permanent position exists to provide finance and accounting support for the Prax Upstream business by reporting financial and operational results both internally and externally; supporting other areas of the business in providing robust and consistent financial data; making best use of the financial systems and processes to continuously improve the business’ financial reporting and internal controls environment. Accountabilities: Preparation and posting of journals as part of the month end close and reporting process, including leases under IFRS 16, inventory, revenue, opex and decommissioning interest Review and approval of journals posted by junior members of finance team (including accruals, fixed assets, payroll, intercompany) Preparation of accounting journals for Joint Venture interests and preparation of related Joint Venture billing statements. Liaison with Joint Venture Partners as appropriate. Pricing and issuing crude oil sales invoices, liaising with counterparties and banks in claiming payments and resolving pricing queries Analysing, validating and processing Oil, Gas, and other NGLs sales invoices and liaising with counterparties Updates and maintenance of management accounts, including developing monthly cashflow reporting, reflecting changes to chart of accounts, and other updates as required by management Producing accurate financial reports to specific deadlines Assisting Cost Controllers and other Prax Upstream teams in tracking costs against budgets and monitoring of cash flow forecasts and trends Time-writing and other cost allocating/recharging Providing ad-hoc reports, data and analysis for other Prax Upstream teams including Cost Control and Operations Assist with preparation of subsidiary statutory accounts, including notes to the accounts Assist with maintaining the Company's existing financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems; including the chart of accounts Contributing to continuous improvement of processes and key reporting tools and systems Developing strong external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, financial systems technical support and tax advisers Support Finance Manager in other matters that may arise, as required Compliance with all Company EH&S protocols, processes and
procedures Support to Corporate Response team as required Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Company EH&S procedures Support incident investigations as required Qualifications: Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with at least 2 years PQE Skills and Competencies: Experience in an Oil & Gas E&P or Mining company highly desirable Experience of SAP S4 Hana desired Strong IFRS and technical accounting knowledge Strong attention to detail and an investigative nature High numeracy and sound technical skills Good IT skills, especially Excel Excellent communication skills and an ability to work with all levels An analytical approach to work Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise Problem-solving skills and initiative Manage own time and responsibilities to meet required deadlines.
