Responsibilities: Support daily and month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments, reporting, and system administration. Support daily and monthly reconciliations: analysing and reconciling numerical data in relation to Premiums, Claims, Expenses, Reassurance, Tax, and other financial transactions in accordance with deadlines, ensuring that accurate and timely financial data is maintained. Liaison with other areas of the business to progress the resolution of queries. Assist with accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and VAT returns. Arrange payments of invoices, expense claims, and payment runs. Reviewing daily funding requirements to ensure that bank accounts are maintained to the agreed levels. Maintenance of process and procedure notes. Supporting the wider finance team with ad-hoc duties as required. Comply with the FCA’s conduct (and senior conduct) and Consumer Duty rules and the PRA’s conduct (and senior manager conduct) standards as set out. Notify the regulator(s) of matters reasonably expected to be notified.

Core Competencies: Highly organised with great attention to detail and numeracy skills. Ability to analyse and reconcile data using financial systems, third-party portals, and other software. Able to problem solve and implement solutions to ensure tasks are completed to the required quality and deadlines. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with confidence to deal with external suppliers and other business areas. Team player, with a highly flexible approach to work especially during key financial reporting periods. Positive, proactive, and eager to learn in a supportive environment. Work independently as well as playing a key role within the team.

Experience and Qualifications: Mandatory: Good working knowledge of Microsoft or equivalent products specifically Excel with a keen interest to develop skills further. Being able to plan and prioritise work in order to meet deadlines. Desirable: Previous experience in an accounting or finance role. Wanting to study or already working towards the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification.
