This is an opportunity to work within an exciting and busy team. You will work with customers and/or their representatives (in person or indirectly) to apply national and local charging regulations and policies, so as to calculate the amount a customer should contribute to the cost of their care services, and administer the Council's statutory duties to offer a Deferred Payment Scheme to social care customers.
Working with care providers, care professionals and clients (in person or indirectly) to ensure the council meets its statutory and contractual duties for payments and income collections relating to its care and support services.
You will be required to communicate with customers via telephone, letter and email as well as face to face meetings, where appropriate, so exceptional communication skills are essential. Maths and English qualifications, of at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent, are required.
You need to be able to work in a busy, pressured and changing environment, be positive and supportive to others, be able to organise and manage your work priorities, be competent in dealing with various types of people and be able to explain complex issues simply.
You will have an understanding of the ethos of state benefits and financial assessment work, the services provided by our care management team and the legislative framework we operate within.
The successful candidate will receive ongoing support and training so they can provide a high quality and high standard service to our customers.
