Join us as a Financial Communications Manager Working as part of the busy, high-profile Group Media Relations team, you'll play an important role in promoting and protecting the reputation of bank and its senior leadership through a variety of external communications channels Reporting into our External Leadership Communications and Financial Media Lead, you’ll support the delivery of key financial and shareholder moments and the development and activation of executive director external engagement plans As a spokesperson for the bank across a number of topics, you’ll handle challenging reputational issues and gain valuable exposure as you work with a range of senior stakeholders What you'll do

As a Financial Communications Manager, you’ll be helping the Group to tell its story to different external audiences. As part of the role, you’ll plan and deliver successful external engagement activity to drive positive outcomes against clear objectives. Day to day, you’ll be: Helping to plan and deliver key financial and shareholder moments such as Financial Results and the annual general meeting, as well as proactive external campaigns that build support and advocacy for the bank’s strategy and leadership Finding and leveraging opportunities for our Executive Directors to use a platform to talk about the bank’s corporate narrative Drafting high quality briefings, speeches and commentary for senior stakeholders as well as media materials that evolve and support our narrative and messaging Securing positive media coverage for the bank and mitigating reputational risks through proactive engagement and issues management as well as building a network of relevant business and banking journalists Working collaboratively across Communications and the wider bank in order to provide high quality external communications advice and counsel to senior stakeholders Delivering engaging content that builds positive sentiment amongst key stakeholders and integrates digital engagement into traditional communications strategies The skills you'll need

We’re looking for a confident, collaborative communicator with excellent writing skills who can influence at a senior level and provide clear briefings for business leaders. With experience in a similar role, you’ll be able to demonstrate how you’ve helped to plan, deliver and measure external engagement campaigns to protect and enhance reputations. Additionally, you’ll need: A positive, can-do attitude with a strong appetite for learning and developing A track record of telling stories in creative ways, with excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience of media and communications planning and measurement, as well as managing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders Great organisational skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise effectively and work under pressure to meet deadlines A good understanding of the news media and social media landscape with a strong grasp of political and economic issues Knowledge of how to effectively incorporate social media and digital engagement into external engagement Experience of financial communications and organising events
