We have an opportunity for a Financial Control Accountant to join our team on a hybrid basis.
Your role As our Financial Control Accountant, you will be operating within a demanding and changing statutory and regulatory environment. This role is key to the UK Financial Control team, supporting compliance with relevant RSA and IFC Group policies and underpinning the Canadian NI52-109 regulatory standard for internal financial controls. Your work must therefore be undertaken with a high degree of professional excellence, diligence, and tenacity.
You will work closely with the Financial Control Business Partners, providing support and driving improvements within the financial control environment of the UK business. You will spend your time undertaking controls design and operating effectiveness testing, as well as supporting the business through any required remediation activity to ensure an effective financial control environment.
As part of the quarterly reporting cycle, you will support the UK&I Financial Control Team Leader in the collation of reporting MI. You will add value through your flexibility, understanding of how things work in RSA, and your pragmatic approach to testing and remediation.
About you While experience in financial controls within the financial services environment is desirable, training will be provided. A thorough understanding of processes is essential, allowing for the identification and assessment of key financial reporting risks and the design of appropriate controls. As a self-starter, you will thrive under tight deadlines, effectively manage expectations across diverse stakeholder groups, and adhere to RSA protocols and procedures, including confidentiality and regulatory requirements.
Ideally, you will be part-qualified or have relevant experience in a similar role.
