Department Overview
Working in the Asset Management division, the Finance Control team is responsible for the financial operations, statutory and regulatory reporting as well as providing commercial insights and analytics to support business strategy and objectives.
The ideal candidate would be a self-motivated team player with experience in a similar role in Financial Services, preferably in Investment Management, someone who understands the UK regulatory and tax landscapes and is confident in managing a small team and able to delegate and develop existing team members. The candidate must be able to prioritize individual and team workloads and deliver high-quality, accurate work to meet deadlines and standards required by internal and external parties.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting
Knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS accounting treatment application is essential
Oversees and manages the production of accurate and timely financial statements and management accounts
Manage the annual audit process and coordinate with the team to produce the financial statements such as accounting notes and all audit activities such as providing walkthrough of processes, evidence gathering submissions
Accountable for the daily operations and accounting activities managed by the outsourced team in Powai
Ensure smooth close of month-end and quarter-end including timely reconciliations, reviews, and sign-offs
Production of Quarterly and Monthly Financial performance MI, Board Packs, and Audit Packs for NAMUK and NAMEUB including commentary
Review and validate accrued management fees that are prepared by NAM Tokyo and maintain fee schedule for quarterly invoicing
Manage the production of product costing and allocations at Funds level
Complete/Review outputs from the financial control team for RFPs, Insurance, and any other regulatory surveys
Treasury and Cash flow forecast
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with HMRC reporting requirements and deadlines such as PSA, VAT, and Corporation Tax
Review and challenge Tax outputs with Tax business partners
Ensure all financial activities comply with FCA regulations and guidelines
Review all external regulatory reporting such as ONS and FCA submissions and present to CFO prior to submission
Stay up to date with changes in regulatory policies, recommend and implement necessary adjustments and communicate to the wider Finance team and CFO
Budgeting & Forecasting
Support with the budgeting and forecasting process, providing insights and analysis to support decision-making
Monitor and report on financial performance against budgets and forecasts
Skills & Experience:
Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
Strong technical grounding in financial accounting
Strong written and oral communication skills; able to explain accounting concepts and treatments to stakeholders
Analytical and inquisitive
Attention to detail is essential, with excellent organizational ability
Advanced Excel
Strong with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
