Provide leadership for the finance function and offer financial expertise for strategic decision-making. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of accounting records, compliance with accounting standards, and consistency with company policies. Modernise accounting practices incorporating new technologies and automation. Liaise with third-party accountants to ensure compliance with statutory and HMRC reporting requirements. Manage cash forecasting and oversee the sales and purchase ledgers. Oversee credit control, actively managing priority debtors and credit checking. Manage bank, petty cash, and credit card reconciliations, as well as the payroll function. Assist with the production of financial statements and corporation tax returns. Maintain accounting records for a property management company and manage the order processing function through to dispatch. Liaise with the company’s HR and Legal third-party support as required. Required Skills & Qualifications:
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience Organised, proactive, and deadline-focused approach. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and influence. Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail. Experience in creating profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flows. Good numeracy, literacy, and general IT skills. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience with Sage accounting software or similar. Track record of making sound commercial decisions.
