Strategic Financial Management – Development and preparation of the annual budgets and operational overheads. Strategic long-term planning support to the MD to align with financial goals and objectives. Financial Management & Reporting – Oversee the company's day-to-day finances, including cash flow, debtors, creditors, overhead, and profit margin/EBIDTA optimisation. Prepare monthly management accounts, draft profit and loss to submit to the group finance department. Commercial Business Support – Assist in evaluating business opportunities, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations. Confidential Administrative Support - Provide direct assistance to the MD with sensitive business matters, including correspondence, document preparation, and supporting decision-making processes. Team Leadership & Development – Manage, mentor, and develop the accounts finance team ensuring a high level of performance and growth. Person Specification as a Financial Controller:
Accounting qualification - ideally ACA, ACCA, or CIMA with previous experience within a Finance Manager / Controller capacity. Proven experience working in an entrepreneurial business or a business that has experienced rapid growth which has tested financial structure. Technically strong accounting skills. Experience of working with ERP systems. Advanced MS Excel. Personable and confident. Ability to self-motivate. Methodical and organised.
