Our client, a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation, is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join their growing team on a full-time, permanent basis. As Financial Controller, you will manage finances for a multi-business company, ensuring strong controls, operational efficiency, and strategic insights. Your responsibilities will include managing VAT returns, budgets, audits, and intercompany processes across the business. The responsibilities: Oversee financial management and reporting, including monitoring financial performance, managing month-end and year-end processes, and preparing accurate financial statements, while ensuring adherence to applicable standards and regulations. Coordinate annual audits, maintain robust financial controls, and provide strategic support for budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Deliver operational finance support by managing payroll and pension reconciliations, overseeing credit control activities, reviewing supplier payments, and contributing to finance-related projects as required. Ensure the timely and accurate submission of tax filings (corporate tax, payroll tax, VAT), maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and collaborating with external advisors to meet deadlines. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team of five members, supporting cross-functional initiatives and ensuring effective financial tracking for capital expenditures and business growth projects. Partner with other departments to streamline accounting workflows, driving improvements in efficiency, accuracy, and process speed. Oversee the daily operations of finance systems, addressing issues promptly and escalating when necessary to minimise disruptions. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in financial operations, optimise system performance, and lead IT-related finance projects to align with broader business objectives. The candidate: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Proven financial management experience in a similar role. Strong expertise in financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis. Proven ability to deliver financial insights that drive business performance. Experience across multiple business and familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP software.
