Due to the early retirement of the current post-holder, Abacus are commencing the recruitment for the position of Financial Controller with this large-scale, global business. This is a high profile role working with a highly motivated, multi-disciplinary team – a local leadership team that operates within a wider group.

The requirement is to identify a post-qualified Accountant with strong commercial awareness and the desire to work closely with senior management providing advice, guidance and perspective on all financial matters. You will be knowledgeable of management reporting and analysis and be able to manage a small team. If you are a Qualified Accountant (perhaps looking at your first move into industry) based within the region we look forward to speaking with you and providing the complete outline. The successful appointee will benefit from a 4-6 month period of handover with the current Financial Controller.

Requirements: University degree. Qualified Accountant ACA, CIMA, ACCA (or the international equivalent). Significant experience as a financial or business analyst. Operational experience within business would be advantageous. Must have expert Microsoft Office Products experience, specifically with Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word as well as the ability to learn corporate ERP systems. Evidence of comfort and familiarity around top management.

Responsibilities: Lead and direct a finance team of 2 Financial & Cost Accountants, including financial and management accounting processes, P&L and Balance Sheet review, and variance analysis. Ensure complete financial control is maintained including compliance with applicable GAAP, corporate accounting policy, and audit requirements. Oversee monthly reporting for site, and communication of results to all stakeholders. Oversee the Monthly R&O and quarterly forecasting process. Participate in formulating and delivering business strategy. Drive business improvement and support this through the provision of accurate and timely financial information, working closely with the cross-functional managers. Provide support to commercial decision-making processes and business development.
