Ready for your next career move? A fast-growing, award-winning business consultancy in the North East is looking for a Financial Controller to join their team. The company has been recognised for its outstanding employee engagement and offers a friendly, relaxed work environment where everyone is valued and supported. In this role, you will report to the Finance Director and manage a small finance team, working closely with the Management Accountant. Your main responsibility will be overseeing the daily financial operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly. You'll handle the commission process for the sales team, making sure payments are accurate and timely. You'll also take charge of the audit process, working with external auditors and supporting the Finance Director with compliance requirements. Over time, you'll take on the responsibility of managing the company's relationship with the bank, helping with cash flow and supporting business growth. Your role will also involve preparing monthly management accounts, overseeing the month-end process, and making sure year-end reports are accurate, including prepayments, accruals, and revenue recognition. You will work on improving financial processes to make them more efficient. This role is perfect for you if you're currently a Financial Controller, or a qualified Management Accountant or Finance Manager looking to take the next step in your career. Ideally, you'll have experience in an energy brokerage or a similar fast-growing industry. You'll need to have a recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with post-qualified experience. Experience managing sales commissions and leading a finance team would be advantageous. You'll also need to be a good communicator, working closely with the sales team, senior leaders, and external partners. You'll receive a generous benefits package with 23 days of annual leave, plus Bank Holidays, with extra time off given over the festive period. Other benefits include private health insurance, and a fully paid gym membership. There's also the option of hybrid working, with up to 2 days a week in the office, which is easily accessible by public transport and offers free parking. Additional perks include a paid day off to volunteer for a charity and gifts for work anniversaries and birthdays. The company cares about work-life balance, offering flexible hours and an early finish every Friday, so you can enjoy a relaxed and supportive environment. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business at a key moment in its development. If you're looking to take the next step in your career, click 'Apply' now!
