£64,000 - £80,000 depending on experience + discretionary bonus and other benefits Our market-leading client is looking to secure the services of a new Financial Controller. Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller is responsible for financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, planning, and providing insightful analysis to support decision-making. As a Financial Controller, you’ll oversee a team of 7 financial professionals and be accountable for: Financial Control Systems:

Maintain and improve robust financial control systems, identifying and mitigating risks to prevent errors, waste, and fraud. Team Leadership:

Lead, develop, and mentor the finance team to ensure high performance. Financial Planning:

Prepare and manage long-term financial plans and forecasts aligned with business goals. Key requirements for the Financial Controller role: Financial Control:

Maintain and improve a robust system of financial control, ensuring compliance with legal and financial regulations. Deliver continuous improvement of financial systems and processes to support growth strategies.

Team Leadership:

Lead, develop, and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning.

Month-End Close:

Co-ordinate the month-end close process and approve General Journals. Review and draft commentary for the Monthly Business Report to agreed deadlines.

Financial Planning:

Prepare the Annual, 5-year, and 30-year plans and quarterly reforecasts. Collaborate with operational teams to align financial strategy with business goals regarding property investment and maintenance.

Cashflow Management:

Produce cashflow statements and monitor liquidity on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. Produce the annual statutory accounts report.

Audit and Compliance:

Liaise with external auditors and review/prepare PBC schedules for the statutory audit.

Tax and Payroll:

Prepare all tax returns and supporting schedules, including PAYE, CT, and CIS.

Skills & experience required of the Financial Controller role: A higher education qualification (e.g., Degree) with CCAB/CIMA accountancy qualification preferable with 2-3 years PQE. Experienced in the preparation and presentation of reports and analysis related to property investments and related cash flow to internal finance and non-finance staff. Demonstrable experience managing a finance team. Experience in preparing audit schedules and facilitating auditors with their inquiries. Our client is built on diversity.
