We're now seeking a talented and driven Financial Controller to join our team and play a key role in our growing startup to set the foundations for future growth. As our Financial Controller, you will be a vital part of Lumi’s operations, taking ownership of our financial management and ensuring we have a solid foundation for growth for the future. As our Financial Controller you can expect to be responsible for:

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

Preparing accurate and timely financial statements, management accounts, and reports for the CEO and the board of directors. Cashflow Management:

Monitoring and optimising Lumi’s cash flow, ensuring sufficient funds for operational needs and investment opportunities. Payments & Payroll:

Managing all aspects of accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and overseeing payroll. Bookkeeping:

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards and regulations. Compliance:

Ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, including VAT, PAYE, and corporation tax. Process Improvement:

Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and systems, implementing best practices, and enhancing efficiency. We'd love you to have

Qualified Accountant:

You’ll either be or working towards being a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a strong understanding of UK accounting standards. Startup Experience:

You have prior experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment and are comfortable with ambiguity and change. Hands-on Approach:

You are a proactive and hands-on individual with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get involved in all aspects of finance. Strong Systems Skills:

You’ll have excellent IT skills and be proficient in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and Google Sheets/Microsoft Excel. Excellent Communication:

You possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Bonus Points

Experience and enthusiasm for the space sector, ESA funding mechanisms or Innovate UK grant-based financing. International experience with export and import finance - we buy, sell and build with overseas clients. Understanding UK R&D tax credits and experience with claims. Prior experience in aiding and completing audits with external firms. What We Offer
