A fantastic, exciting and diverse role of Financial Controller working for a successful owner managed business based on the outskirts of Scarborough. On offer is a salary between £55,000 to £65,000 p.a. depending on experience, plus further benefits including 35 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays + gifted days at Christmas), onsite parking, paid for professional membership, up to 2 days hybrid working/working from home, Benenden Healthcare Scheme, annual pay reviews, generous pension scheme and attractive working hours, 8.30am till 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious Financial Controller to join a growing business with a clear pathway to become Finance Director in 3-5 years time. Working as an integral part of the senior leadership team and reporting to the CEO, you will help shape the future of the business, as well as maintaining day to day Financial Controller responsibilities such as: Managing the accounts function for a number of companies and a holding company. Preparing financial reports and financial statements. Analysing financial data to provide insights and recommendations to directors for strategic decision-making. Leading the annual budgeting process, working closely with the directors to develop accurate forecasts and budgets. Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws. Developing financial models and scenarios to support strategic decision-making and investment analysis. Evaluating and recommending improvements to financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and mitigate risks. Managing a small finance team, circa 4, with 1 direct report. Producing monthly management accounts and preparing annual financial accounts. Providing accountancy support to the wider business as required. Any other ad hoc duties, as required. To be considered for this Financial Controller position and be successful in post, you will need/be: CIMA, ACCA or ACA (ICAEW) qualification, or be an experienced QBE. Previous team management/people management experience. An ability to interpret financial data, apply solutions and strategies to business planning. Strong systems knowledge (Sage, Xero, Quickbooks) including ERP systems, as well as advanced Excel skills. Driven, passionate about accounts and looking to eventually be the number one in the finance function. Solutions focused with a commercial awareness and business mindset. This role is easily commutable from Scarborough, Pickering, Beverley, Bridlington, Driffield, York, Malton and surrounding areas, with free onsite parking. This role offers up to 2 days working from home and so candidates who live in a commutable distance will be considered.
