Financial Controller

Financial Controller required in Swindon. £35-40,000 annual starting salary pending experience. 37.5 hours per week between 8:30am-5:00pm Monday to Friday (some flexibility on these hours can be offered). Our client, an independent used van/commercial vehicle dealership located in Swindon with over 400+ vehicles in stock, is currently looking to recruit a Financial Controller. Reporting to the Managing Directors, as the Financial Controller you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our client's financial information with your key responsibilities including: Overseeing the day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements. Preparing and reviewing budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections. Developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices. Managing our client's cash flow and monitor financial performance against budget. Liaising with external auditors and other professional advisors as required. Providing financial guidance and advice to departmental management and other stakeholders across our client's business. Ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of tax returns and compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations. To be eligible our client is looking for candidates with a positive work ethic and proven experience within a Financial Controller or similar role, with a strong background in accounting/finance. You will be IT literate with Sage50 experience and a degree in accounting/finance or a relevant professional qualification (such as ACCA or CIMA) would be desirable but is non-essential. Overall, you will have strong analytical skills and attention to detail. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive and results-driven approach, with the ability to work independently and take initiative. What's in it for you?
