We are working with a multi-jurisdiction Private Bank based in the City who are searching for a Financial Crime Manager on a 6-month fixed term contract. THE RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Head of Compliance in the management of the financial crime function in an effective manner. Assist the Head of Financial Crime Compliance with the investigations and evaluations of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs). Assist the Head of Financial Crime Compliance with SARs submissions to the relevant law enforcement agency in respect to all suspicious that have substance. Assist with the development, maintenance and review of the annual Financial Crime Compliance Monitoring Plan. Assist in the gathering of all relevant financial crime related information in respect of all relevant Committee meetings including Financial Crime. Assist with the maintenance of the PEP Register. As directed, conduct financial crime reviews in accordance with the Financial Crime Compliance Monitoring Plan, and where necessary report findings through the Head of Financial Crime Compliance to Senior Management and relevant Committees. Report on regulatory risks and failures to the Head of Financial Crime Compliance. Assist with the development and maintenance of procedures and controls that ensure the completion of regulatory remedial action when required. Assist in the development and maintenance of financial crime policies and procedures. Assist the Head of Financial Crime Compliance on all regulatory matters including the preparation for regulatory visits and visits from other external authorities as necessary. As directed, review AML systems and controls providing feedback to the Head of Financial Crime Compliance. Perform AML reviews of new clients as directed by the Head of Financial Crime Compliance. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 5+ years’ experience within a 2nd Line of Defence function (Investigations, Sanction Screening, Transaction Monitoring). Experience of reviewing and updating policy and procedures. Prior experience within the banking environment dealing with private, retail and/or corporate clients. Ability to commute into the office 3 days a week. The role is not a 1st LOD/KYC role; candidates with this background will not be considered. Candidates must have a month or less notice period.
