Financial Crime, Sanctions and Export Control Compliance Lead

to join Rolls-Royce & Partners Finance Limited (RRPF), a joint venture company between Rolls-Royce PLC and GATX Corporation comprising of 19 joint venture entities in the UK, 18 entities in the US, 2 in Malaysia, 1 in China and 1 in India. In this role, you will oversee our financial crime and anti-money laundering (AML) compliance activities and export control and sanctions compliance. RRPF is a jet engine leasing company with the largest global portfolio of Rolls-Royce aero engines, providing medium and long-term spare engine leasing and bespoke financial solutions to airlines, aircraft lessors and OEMs. We support over 50 customers worldwide with a portfolio of over 500 jet engines. What you will be doing: In this interesting role you will be responsible for: Compliance Oversight:

Fulfil statutory obligations as Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for RRPF under UK legislation. Compliance Oversight:

Development and maintain financial crime and anti-money laundering policies and controls for RRPF and Rolls-Royce plc. Framework Management:

Ensure our financial crime and anti-money laundering, export control and sanctions systems evolve in line with regulatory changes and business risk profiles. Strategic Compliance Leadership:

Shape and lead the firm’s financial crime and export control and sanctions compliance strategy to ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. Risk Assessment:

Conduct and maintain an enterprise-wide risk assessment to identify key risks and develop strategies for mitigation. Daily Operations:

Oversee financial crime, export control and sanctions frameworks, including risk-based due diligence, transaction monitoring, and suspicious activity reporting (SAR). Due Diligence:

Manage enhanced due diligence for high-risk customers and engage with senior stakeholders as needed. Investigation and Reporting:

Act as the designated officer for investigating and reporting suspicious activities to the National Crime Agency (NCA). Governance Updates:

Prepare and present financial crime, export control and sanctions updates to internal governance structures and complete the annual MLRO report for the Board. And for this role, key qualifications/experience include: Essential: Excellent knowledge of the UK and EU financial crime, anti-money laundering, export control and sanctions regulations. Extensive experience in anti-money laundering, export control and sanctions compliance, preferably within financial services. Strong knowledge of financial crime, export control and sanctions risk assessment and mitigation strategies. Technical understanding of risks associated with asset finance and leasing. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to present reports to stakeholders. Familiarity with systems for screening, fraud monitoring, and transaction monitoring. Strong teamwork, communication skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude. Desirable: Relevant certifications such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) or ICA (International Compliance Association). Experience or interest in the leasing and aviation industries is a plus. We are an equal opportunities employer.
