CEO About OWA Ocean Women’s Association (OWA) is a small local organisation delivering work to benefit disadvantaged and socially isolated older Bangladeshi women in Stepney and around Tower Hamlets. This role is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of local women. Purpose of the role To deliver the Smallwood Project for OWA, which includes a programme of workshops on cost-of-living topics in the Bengali language for 90 women per year. Topics include budgeting skills, state benefits, saving money on household and energy bills, savvy shopping, job seeking, training, volunteering, debt management, mental health, and available support. Over 3 years, 270 women will benefit from the workshops, with a total of 180 workshop places available each year. What we are looking for A Bangladeshi Sylheti female worker with experience in women’s projects. Responsibilities include assigning and monitoring daily tasks, liaising with other groups to recruit clients, and creating reports for the project manager. Networking is essential, including attending women’s events, contacting professional organisations, and using social platforms such as LinkedIn.
