NextEnergy ’s OECD-focused investment funds (NPIII, NPV), including quarterly update of the fund/transaction models and presentation of the valuation to key stakeholders. As an integral member of the Investment Management team, you will also contribute to all areas of the M&A lifecycle for investment and financing activities, which will allow for accelerated progression towards a lead investment management role if this direction is sought. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a dynamic and rapidly growing renewable energy sector. The role demands an interest in learning more about this industry and contributing to NextEnergy’s mission towards a more sustainable future. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Investment Director, this role will include supporting across the following areas: Ownership of the various financial models, including quarterly valuation updates and presentation of results to various levels of management; Develop and maintain new financial models/business tools for investment and financing transactions in new jurisdictions; Lead the evaluation and support the management of new investment opportunities; Work closely with the M&A team to prepare, brief, structure and drive extensive due diligence activities; Take a proactive approach to understanding key deal drivers and be prepared to offer suggestions for improvement and enhancement of returns, risk mitigation and the continual development of the acquisition process; Ownership for the preparation and finalisation of IC Papers and marketing materials used for financing, co-investments or sell side processes; Become a student of the industry; collect and analyse macro/micro data on an ongoing basis to broaden market knowledge and enhance corporate decision-making. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: Share our passion and mission of ‘generating a more sustainable future by leading the transition to clean energy’; Have strong analytical, financial modelling and valuation skills, preferably with some knowledge of Visual Basic and experience with Tax equity modeling is a plus; Have the ability to identify trends and give insights/recommendations for action; Be a committed team player with ability to work on own initiative and under pressure; Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal; Be able to manage large volumes of information and distil the salient facts into a summary format; Have the ability to develop relationships and positively influence key internal and external customers and stakeholders; Have proficient project planning and self-management skills; Have an ability to adapt to and manage frequently changing priorities. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

3-5 year financial modelling experience preferably within a Big four or Advisory boutique; Existing infrastructure asset valuation experience (preferably solar and/or battery storage); Have a strong academic record with a degree qualification from a top-tier institution in engineering or finance; CFA/ACCA or similar financial qualifications and/or previous experience in transaction advisory/accounting would be advantageous.
