About the department The Group Corporate Reporting team are responsible for the reporting of adjusted operating profit and other key performance indicators. We produce the Annual report and accounts (ARA) and Half year results (HYR) announcement including the strategic report section. The team also supports a range of additional reporting and technical accounting related tasks as required. About the role We have an excellent opportunity for a Financial Reporting Accountant to join our Group Corporate Reporting Team, you will get the opportunity to join a team which is central to the external communication and reporting of the Group's results. As the Financial Reporting Accountant you will get the opportunity to work with the Financial Reporting manager within a role that offers exposure across the business/wider finance function, including Investor relations, Communications, Tax and Business performance. The role requires strong communication and influencing skills in dealings with senior management and their teams. You'll work within an area committed to producing high quality work to tight deadlines with a focus on continuous improvement. Key responsibilities Support elements of the monthly/quarterly reporting process including segmental reporting, Associates/joint venture reportings and certain other IFRS related disclosures. Data and commentary submissions are reviewed, analysed and challenged to ensure information provided is accurate and appropriate. Develop finance systems knowledge to ensure optimal use of technology to drive insight and analysis. Deliver continuous process/quality improvements – looking to add value by challenging existing practices and designing, developing and implementing changes to ensure reporting is in line with industry best practice and adds value. Preparation and review of the Strategic report section of the Group's ARA and HYR announcement. Support enhancements to corporate reporting and review of best practice reporting. About the candidate requirements Ideally Qualified Accountant or qualified by experience. Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles, practices and processes. Strong PC skills, particularly Excel. Attention to detail and accuracy. We are proud to be a Disability Confident Committed employer.
