We're seeking an ambitious Financial Reporting Accountant, responsible for key areas within the Financial Reporting and Control team. This person will be integral to supporting the financial reporting for Virgin Red's key partner, month-end activities, and assisting with year-end financial statement preparation and consolidation activities.

Tell me more Responsible for supporting all financial reporting and control aspects of a new initiative launched with Virgin Red's key partner, including monthly reconciliations and analysis of data. Responsible for maintaining financial records and performing month-end procedures and tasks for various Virgin companies. Lead on the development and implementation of a recharge process which simplifies and aligns the process across all Virgin companies, including sales orders, tracking and reconciliation. Implement settlement processes to ensure balances are timeously settled, through collaboration with the Treasury and Accounts Payable teams. Responsible for external compliance for various Virgin companies, including preparation of VAT returns, along with necessary payments within specific deadlines, and preparation and submission of ONS surveys. Manage the annual statutory accounts preparation process, including the preparation of year-end audit files and liaising with external auditors. Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and accounting records for various Virgin companies, including the approval of invoices and employee expense claims, ensuring these are approved and reflected in the accounting system. Responsible for monthly reconciliation of credit cards for various Virgin companies, ensuring these are performed on a timely basis. Regular review of the reconciliation process, focusing on driving continuous improvement through the use of accounting systems and collaboration with the Transformation team where appropriate. Responsible for the monthly preparation of balance sheet reconciliations for various Virgin companies for review by the Financial Controller. Responsible for year-end audit and statutory financial statements process for various Virgin companies, including the collation and preparation of supporting audit documentation and schedules and support on group reporting and the UK group consolidation. Prepare any accounting papers required for the annual audit. Work alongside the Financial Reporting Manager to ensure all accounting practices are in line with technical accounting standards and compliance. Identify opportunities for automation and working on technology-led solutions and processes to improve efficiencies. Ensure all financial-related policies and Codes of Conduct are adhered to. Recently fully-qualified ACA or ACCA, with an audit background. Financial / management accounting experience. Advanced Excel skills. Experience of working to tight deadlines with the desire to drive best practice. Excellent attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility.
