Job Description

We are seeking a

Financial Risk Analyst

to join a data-driven technical risk management team that manages our credit risk profile across the Group.

Who are we:

Hello, we're IG Group. No, not Instagram - though we're a pretty big deal ourselves. We're a global, FTSE 250-listed company made up of a collection of progressive fintech brands in the world of online trading and investing. The best part? We've snapped up many awards for our top-class platforms, forward-thinking products, and incredible employee experiences.

We believe in financial freedom. And our purpose is to help ambitious people achieve it. Around 400,000 people use our groundbreaking technology and forward-thinking platforms to trade the financial products they know and love.

Did we mention we have offices in 18 countries? Yes, when you join IG Group, you'll have the chance to work across multiple brands with people all over the world. We work in cross-functional teams, focused on delivering at pace to improve the experience of traders on our platforms.

The Team:

The Financial Risk Team is responsible for the end-to-end management of IG Group's credit and market risk profile and works to measure, monitor and, where appropriate, mitigate these risks.

Alongside this, we are materially involved in our liquidity risk profile and have full ownership of the Group's regulatory capital model for all entities.

The Team reports directly to the Chief Risk Officer, has frequent exposure to the Risk Committee, Executive Risk Committee and Board Risk Committee and works closely with the 1st line Sales & Trading, Model Validation, Treasury, Credit Operations and Enterprise Data teams.

The Role:

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Financial Risk Analyst to join a small (6-person) team mostly based in London. The role has vast development potential and will support the team in implementing the actions recommended by our risk management models. The role will have exposure to quantitative risk models with the ability to propose changes, recommend improvements and, where appropriate, deploy code changes directly to the pipeline.

The role will work closely with Premium Client Managers, the Institutional Sales Desk and the Trading Desks. The successful candidate will conduct routine and ad hoc credit risk assessments of new and existing clients and implement credit risk mitigating actions where deemed necessary.

What you'll do: Conducting credit risk assessments of new and existing clients. Running routine and ad hoc processes and controls to identify problem areas. Liaising with the 1st line commercial teams to act based on the output of our models.

What you'll need: Knowledge and/or experience in conducting credit risk assessments on retail, professional and institutional clients. Knowledge and/or experience of portfolio margining requirements (including initial and variation margin). Basic Python (incl. Pandas) Basic SQL (Oracle SQL)
