An opportunity has arisen in our client’s Financial Services Regulatory team in London for a mid to senior level non-contentious Lawyer. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced FS Regulatory Lawyer, who is keen make their mark in a well-established and stable practice. The candidate will have the opportunity to lead on client matters, and to be seen as the ‘go-to’ Senior Associate/Associate Director for FS Regulatory expertise within the firm. This is the ideal opportunity for someone to establish themselves as the dedicated non-contentious specialist at the firm, working alongside the existing team of FS investigations and enforcement specialists. You will also be working with key Partners across the Litigation, Corporate and Finance Transactions and Real Estate practices, providing high quality regulatory law advice to key clients of the firm. Candidates with particular sub-sector or practice area specialisms will be supported to further develop and to grow their practices in a highly supportive team. In particular, experience in payment services and consumer credit would be helpful, but are not essential. Key responsibilities: To provide financial services regulatory advice to a broad range of institutions, including investment banks, retail banks, investment managers, market infrastructure providers, and FinTechs. Advising clients (both internally and externally), as well as collaborating closely with other teams to achieve the best outcome for clients. Skills and experience required: Experience of advising on a broad range of aspects across financial services regulation, including compliance, perimeter, asset management, regulatory change and transactional support. A strong track record of working on English law regulatory matters. Experience advising UK regulated financial institutions on their regulatory compliance. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to foster strong internal and external relationships. Solid understanding of the drivers of profitability and an interest in developing a broader understanding of commercial issues, the legal market, and how they affect the firm.
