I am working with a forward-thinking and well-renowned PE-backed Security & Communications Group of companies operating across the UK who are recruiting for Fire Alarm Designers. Due to the company’s continued success and growth, they are recruiting for additional Fire Alarm Designers to join their design team. You will ideally be a Level 3 qualified designer and accomplished estimator within the fire industry with at least 3 years’ experience of designing and estimating fire alarm systems. The role may also suit an experienced engineer looking to develop their career (minimum of 5 years’ experience as an engineer). My client is a highly technical, design-led business specialising in the integration of Life Safety, Security, and Communications systems. Design is one of the ‘three pillars’ of our business, along with Technology and Compliance. What will you be doing day to day: Preparation of designs and quotations for Fire Alarm systems. Ensuring designs fully comply with all applicable regulations and standards. Working to defined quotas, deadlines and budgets. Preparation of designs and costing sheets. Who we are looking for: You will have an excellent working knowledge of BS5839 parts 1 & 6, Requirements of the RRFSO, BS7273-4, BS9999, BS9991, Approved Document B etc. Good IT skills and a familiarity with Microsoft software. Have a keen interest in technology and providing innovative and cost-effective solutions.
