Job Description

Fluor is growing! Our facility operations and maintenance team is looking for a Fire Alarm Engineer to join us in support of a classified facility. The selected applicant will be the focal point for the fire protection systems onsite, and will coordinate the execution of work on these systems.

This is a permanent position working a flexible Monday through Friday dayshift

Basic Job Requirements

• Maintain the Fire Protection Recurring Work Program and update associated data management systems. • Maintain, troubleshoot, inspect, test and repair onsite fire alarm, VESDA, fire damper, and fire sprinkler systems. • Schedule outside organizations to perform maintenance and repairs when appropriate. • Perform oversight of fire protection subcontractors. • Support design reviews for new construction and legacy system upgrades. • Understand and apply fire codes. • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

Notice to candidates: Must have, or be able to obtain and maintain, an active enhanced DV security clearance. This clearance requires UK citizenship.

Must be authorized to work in the UK.

Other Job Requirements

Essential: • Minimum 5 years of experience working with commercial fire alarm systems. • Verifiable experience testing and maintaining addressable fire alarm systems. • Comprehensive understanding of BS5839 Part 1 (design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of systems). • Ability to maintain and service fire alarm systems in line with the current standards/regulations. • ECS or similar. • Ability to perform risk assessments with a high level of health & safety awareness. • Ability to learn and apply US fire codes in combination with UK codes. • Flexible team player with an ability to operate with minimum supervision. • Demonstrate experience of working to high quality standards. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. • Good attention to detail. • The position holder must be IT literate.

Desirable: • 17th / 18th Edition qualified (Ideally 18th) • Undergone and completed BFPSA Training • FIA certificate or similar
