Job Title: Fire and Security Engineer (Multi-Skilled) Location: Office Base: Durham, North-East England Location of Works: Predominantly North-East England, with occasional short-term travel further afield as required Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fire and Security Engineer to join our growing team. The role offers a variety of opportunities in servicing, installation, and commissioning of fire and security systems. While we prefer candidates who can undertake all aspects, we are open to reviewing applications from individuals with expertise in specific areas. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a family-oriented and supportive company, with access to training and the chance to work on leading industry systems. Key Responsibilities: Fire Systems: Installation, servicing, and commissioning of systems such as Advanced, Kentec, Gent, and C-Tec, with Apollo and Hochiki devices. Security Systems: Working with Honeywell Galaxy, Texecom, and other related systems. Access Control & Intercom: Experience with Paxton, Videx, and similar products. CCTV Systems: Installation and servicing of Hikvision, Dahua, Bosch, and equivalent systems. Other Systems: Disabled refuge/WC alarms (Baldwin Boxall, C-Tec, etc.), induction loops (C-Tec, etc.), emergency lighting competent in servicing and replacing faulty fittings. Documentation & Communication: Completing accurate service reports and liaising with the team and clients to ensure high-quality work is delivered. What We Are Looking For: Essential Skills/Experience: Proven experience working in fire and/or security systems. Knowledge of at least some of the listed systems and manufacturers. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Full UK driving license. Desirable Skills/Experience: Experience across multiple disciplines: fire, security, access control, intercoms, and CCTV. Familiarity with industry-leading devices and manufacturers. Willingness to travel and flexibility to occasionally work away from home. What We Offer: Salary: Competitive and negotiable based on experience, aligned with industry standards. Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 am - 17:00 pm. Travel Time: Paid at single time, minus 30 minutes each way. Benefits: Company van, fuel card, power tools, laptop, and all necessary equipment provided. Opportunities for overtime with attractive rates (plenty of chances to earn more). Call-out rota (1 in 3 or 4) with standby rates and door-to-door pay at enhanced rates (1.25x/1.5x). 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, with additional gifted days during Christmas shut down. Friendly and supportive team culture in a family-oriented environment. Statutory sick pay (manager's discretion for enhanced consideration).
