Boden Fire and Security provides a specialist supply, installation, and facilities maintenance service to Ministry of Defence sites and a range of other customers across the South West and South East.

We are seeking a Fire and Security Engineer to join our team of dedicated engineers, working in the Portsmouth area and covering delivery sites across the South East.

The jobholder will be responsible for the maintenance of fire and security related products in and around the South West region. They will be part of an on-call rota and should have good knowledge of all the relevant standards such as BS 5839-1 and PD 6662. They must be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.

Main duties:

Undertake service and regular maintenance of Fire, Intruder, CCTV, and Access control systems. Conduct testing and simulation exercises on fire and security systems to ensure their functionality in case of emergencies. Respond promptly to emergency calls for systems, ensuring minimum downtime. Identify and troubleshoot issues with systems and perform repairs or replacements as needed. Complete daily work sheets and test certificates, ensuring accurate and comprehensive records of all tasks performed. Provide information to supervisors and managers to facilitate solutions to problems. Work closely with other engineers, technicians, and construction professionals as part of a team. Consistently produce work to a high standard. Ensure that all works are carried out in line with Boden and Client standards, policies, and procedures, completing work in a timely manner. Ensure that all installed systems comply with relevant UK regulations and standards. Ensure Company health, safety, and environmental procedures are always implemented and complied with.

Technical experience and qualifications:

Knowledge of relevant standards such as BS 5839-1 and PD 6662. Experience of both conventional and addressable Fire Alarm and Detection equipment. Experience of various intruder, CCTV, and Access Control equipment.
