We are a family-owned, nationwide electrical contractor that primarily works throughout the commercial and industrial sectors, specialising in the dental industry, automotive repair centres, and retail store fit-outs. We are looking for a Fire & Security Engineer to join our newly formed, rapidly growing team. This role is ideally suited to somebody who wants to help shape the Fire & Security function, with the chance to influence key decisions and direction. As the team grows, we are looking for you to grow into a senior/supervisor role. Main Responsibilities You will be responsible for the installation, testing, and commissioning of various fire and security systems in industrial and commercial premises, with occasional domestic properties. Duties may include: Completing installations and modification of Fire Detection Systems, to British Standards, efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. Complete commissioning and testing of Fire & Security systems as part of a team or on your own. Be readily available to support your colleagues where required/assist with ad-hoc project work. Project-based work with no on-call. Knowledge/Requirements A minimum of 5 years installation experience, working with a variety of Fire & Security Systems including addressable and conventional systems across a range of manufacturers. Understanding of BS5839-1 and the latest update on the regulation is essential. Knowledge of (and adherence to) health and safety regulations. Full UK driving licence. Must be willing to work away from home, throughout the UK, where required. Beneficial Knowledge and/or qualifications around the design of Fire Alarm (& Security) systems fully funded training can be provided. Up-to-date CSCS/ECS card. Up-to-date IPAF Certification. Qualities Ability to operate effectively under pressure to rapidly changing circumstances. Positive, self-motivated, and proactive individual. Well-organised and presentable. Ability to keep records by completing written job sheets, logbooks, and test certificates which detail both the progression and outcome of completed works. Good Time Management Skills - to ensure you work to the scheduled timescales. Benefits Salary - £43,000 - £50,000 total comp (inc. annual pay review) Overtime opportunities at time and a half (weekends) No on-call working required Bonus for working away from home (overnight) + £30 food allowance Company pension scheme 21 days holidays, plus Bank Holidays additional. Company Uniform Own set of company power tools/testing equipment Company vehicle (fuel card included) Fully funded ongoing training and external qualifications.
