Scion Communications are a leading provider of fire and security systems, specialising in the installation, maintenance, and servicing of both fire and security solutions for commercial, industrial, and residential properties. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a skilled and experienced Fire & Security Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, test and maintain data cabling infrastructure (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a), ensuring adherence to industry standards for performance and safety Install and maintain digital signage and audio visuals ensuring functionality and compatibility within the SLA set Install and commission a range of fire detection, alarm, and security systems (including CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and fire alarms)

Fire Installs: Kentec, CTEC, Fike & Advance Intruder Installs: Scantronics, Texecom & Galaxy CCTV Installs: HikVision, Pelco & Hanwha Access Control: Paxton & 2N

Install and maintain hosted & PBX telephony systems to ensure smooth communication within organisations Provide data connectivity solutions, inclusive of Wi-Fi networks including troubleshooting to maintain reliable connectivity Install and maintain fibre optic systems (single-mode and multi-mode) for high-speed data transmission, ensuring high-quality performance and reliability Ensure all installations are in compliance with relevant safety regulations, standards, and manufacturer guidelines Carry out regular servicing and maintenance on fire and security systems, including diagnosing faults, troubleshooting, and replacing components as required Conduct system tests, inspections, and functional checks to ensure systems are working correctly Liaise with clients to assess their needs and offer appropriate solutions Provide technical support and training to customers on system operations Maintain accurate records of all installations, service visits, and inspections

Key Skills & Qualifications: Strong understanding of fire and security systems, including fire alarms, CCTV, intruder alarms, access control, and related technologies. Experience in installing, commissioning, servicing, and maintaining fire and security systems. Ideally, you will hold relevant industry certifications such as FIA (Fire Industry Association), ECS (Electrical Competence Scheme), SSAIB, NSI, or equivalent (BS5839, EN50131, and other relevant certifications would be an advantage) Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve technical issues efficiently Professional attitude and commitment to delivering high standards of customer service A clean, full UK driving licence is required as this role involves travel to client sites
