The Opportunity: HKA is seeking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Fire Engineer to join the already well-established team as part of the development of the business. This is an excellent opportunity for you if you are interested in moving into a forensic claims consultancy. The FTS team has grown in both size and workload and this presents exciting opportunities for the successful candidate working on projects both in the UK and Internationally based from any of our UK locations. We operate a flexible working pattern both in terms of hours and location and are happy with flexible remote working. For the right candidate, we are open to this person being based in any of our EMEA locations. Responsibilities: Providing support to the broader FTS team through knowledge and experience in Fire Engineering issues. Working actively with colleagues in the Fire Engineering team in providing an integrated source of expert level industry knowledge and expertise. Technical analysis of projects in dispute. Acting as support to the Expert Witness in Fire Engineering, as a discrete issue or as part of a multi-discipline expert team. Supporting in an advisory capacity to legal teams and clients on Fire Engineering related issues. Assisting colleagues in delivering the highest quality of deliverables by providing peer review input. Requirements: BSc in Fire Engineering or related subject. At least 5 years’ experience as a consulting fire engineer. Detailed understanding of Fire Regulations, UK regulations are a plus. Experience of international projects. Experience working in international jurisdictions and the application of various fire regulations and standards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
