Strong technical engineering skills Strong understanding of general engineering principles Ability to understand and formulate design decisions and present for discussion Excellent written and verbal communication skills – articulate and diplomatic manner Good knowledge of UK fire protection standards including LPC Sprinkler Rules incorporating BS EN 12845, BS 9990, BS EN 15004, BS 5306, DD 8458, DD 8489 Appreciation and basic understanding of international technical guidance relevant to fire protection systems including NFPA (Desirable) Understanding of the engineer’s role in the co-ordination and integration of project information and management Understanding of financial aspects of running a design project on time and on budget Ability to use some of the following: Autodesk Revit, Bentley MicroStation, Microsoft ‘Office’ suite, Adobe Creative Suite Ability to undertake full hydraulic calculations using applicable software such as Canute FHC This role will be based full time in our office in Battersea.
