Firmount Veterinary Clinic - Maternity Cover
– Full Time Registered Veterinary Nurse – 40 hours Firmount Veterinary Clinic is looking for a full-time registered veterinary nurse to join our team. We are an independently owned mixed animal practice in Antrim Town. This maternity cover may have the opportunity to progress into a permanent RVN position within the practice. In the past few years, our clinic has completed a renovation, so you will be working within our new spacious premises. Working hours will be on a rota basis between the hours of 8 am - 7 pm Monday – Friday. Weekends will consist of 1 in 5, 8 am - 4 pm Saturday and casual hours on Sunday. No OOH. RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse IT skills (previous teleos experience is preferred but training will be provided) Team player with a can-do attitude Good communication skills Job Description
The role will incorporate all aspects of nursing to include: Nursing clinics including interacting with clients with a genuine interest for the patient Monitoring anaesthetics X-raying patients under veterinary direction, assisting with ultrasonography Taking and running blood samples using IDEXX machines Completing paperwork with clients Answering phone calls with support staff and updating clients Kennels rounds to include cleaning kennels, nursing sick patients, medicating, and updating clients on their pet Competent in dealing with emotional and stressful interactions and show a natural ability to have empathy towards clients Maintaining a clean and tidy working space Occasional reception desk cover These duties may be altered in the future to reflect changes in circumstances or requirements.
