Firmware Engineer

with a passion for designing and integrating advanced firmware solutions for cutting-edge defence applications. This is your chance to work on challenging projects and collaborate with industry leaders. This role will require

infrequent travel to our site in Belfast

with the majority of work being carried out on a

remote basis . Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and optimize firmware solutions for embedded systems. Work on bare metal programming and implement robust software for STM32 microcontrollers in Embedded C/C++. Integrate hardware, software, and firmware, ensuring seamless system functionality for defence-grade applications. Develop and validate firmware for NAND Flash memory and other hardware components. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and manage system and hardware requirements. Conduct testing, debugging, and performance optimization to ensure compliance with defence standards and regulations. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in firmware or embedded systems development, preferably in defence or aerospace sectors. Strong expertise in Embedded C/C++ programming, bare metal development, and STM32 microcontrollers. Experience with NAND Flash, PCB design, and hardware-software integration. Familiarity with electronic warfare systems and defence-related engineering. Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline. SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain SC Clearance is mandatory. Ability to travel infrequently, paid by Alten, to our site in Belfast.
