Job Description Working as a key member of our
Firmware Engineering
team you will help to develop a range of product solutions to meet the needs of new and advanced avionic and maritime platforms. The successful candidate will be assigned to one of our avionic or maritime product development teams and be involved in activities across the product development life-cycle. This could include: Analysis of customer requirements Creating & modifying firmware designs and architecture Use of simulation tools to generate verification test benches Configuration control Qualifications You will ideally be qualified in hardware, electronics or an electronic systems engineering discipline. Some experience in the defence, avionics, aerospace or naval systems industry would be preferred but is not essential. You will have experience in some of the following (appropriate training will be provided): FPGA design and implementation for complex functions, primarily using XILINX SoCs and MicroSemi FPGAs Use of VHDL Use of simulation tools and the generation of verification test benches XILINX Vivado and MicroSemi Libero toolsets, and supporting tools Professional registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng or equivalent) is desirable, but not essential. General Dynamics Mission Systems actively support employees in attaining CEng status. Where appropriate there is potential for further study support of Degree or Masters qualifications. Additional Information Starting salary for these positions will vary depending upon the experience of the successful applicant. We have positions for
