First Line IT Service Desk Analyst

to join the IT team at

GSF Car Parts , supporting our team members across retail branches, distribution centres, and head office. As the first point of contact for IT issues, you will play a critical role in ensuring our team members have the tools and support they need to serve our customers effectively. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, multi-site environment and grow your IT career with a leading automotive parts distributor. Key Responsibilities

Incident Management:

Be the first point of contact for IT support queries from GSF team members via phone, email, or the ticketing system. Accurately log, prioritize, and categorize incidents and service requests in line with GSF policies and ITIL best practices. Troubleshoot and resolve common IT issues, including hardware, software, and connectivity problems. Escalate unresolved issues to second-line support or external vendors as required.

Service Requests:

Assist with routine IT tasks such as password resets, setting up user accounts, and installing standard software packages. Support GSF employees in accessing core business systems, including MAM, Office 365, and other key platforms.

Communication:

Keep team members informed about the status of their IT issues, ensuring a high level of customer service. Provide clear and friendly guidance to non-technical users.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of all incidents and requests in the Service Desk system. Contribute to the creation of a knowledge base to improve first-line resolution rates and empower team members.

Collaboration:

Work closely with the IT team and external vendors to ensure seamless IT operations. Assist with new employee onboarding by setting up laptops, PCs, and accounts. Participate in IT projects, including system upgrades and rollouts, as required.

About You

Essential Skills & Experience

Previous experience in an IT support or customer service role, ideally within a retail or distribution environment. Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems, Office 365, and hardware troubleshooting. Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools and ticketing systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-first approach. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Desirable Skills & Qualifications

ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent understanding of ITIL principles. Experience with business-critical applications like Manage Engine and distribution/logistics IT systems. Familiarity with Active Directory, networking fundamentals, and remote desktop tools. Knowledge of retail or automotive distribution operations. What’s in it for you?
