The Role As a Fitness and Aquatics Therapy Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting both Aquatics Therapy and Fitness sessions, ensuring high standards of personal care, safety, and enjoyment for the children and young adults they support. Key Responsibilities Assisting and instructing young people with varying abilities during Aquatics Therapy and gym sessions. Supporting therapy programs designed by their NHS Physio team and maintaining accurate records of each young person s progress. Facilitating fun and engaging fitness activities in the gym and ensuring activity schedules meet the needs of their Children s Home. Providing personal care before and after sessions, assisting young people with changing and showering. Working closely with the wider team to create a stimulating, safe, and supportive environment. Skills and Qualifications GCSEs Grade C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent). Recognised fitness qualification (Level 2 or above). Basic knowledge of Health & Safety guidelines and responsibilities. Swimming ability and fitness level to meet National Pool Lifeguard Qualification standards. Other useful skills and experience: Experience working with individuals with disabilities or complex needs (desirable). National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (desirable).
