A&P Falmouth- Fitter
Home to one of the world’s largest natural deep-water harbours, A&P Falmouth’s facility is one of the largest ship-repair complexes in the UK.
We are looking for Fitters to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. Our Fitters complete mechanical overhaul, repair, renew and modification of vessel equipment and systems.
So, what will you do?
Fit and assemble mechanical components and systems onboard ships according to engineering specifications and drawings
Carry out maintenance and repairs on various vessels, inspecting, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and structural issues
Assist in the overhaul, repair, renew or modification of vessel’s main engines, generators, compressors and more
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and standards
And what are we looking for?
You’ll have experience as a Fitter or in a similar role in a manufacturing, industrial or engineering environment or will be eager to learn and be trained to our standards of work
You'll be able to interpret and understand technical drawings
You'll have excellent teamwork and communication skills
You'll have good attention to detail and a logical, analytical and proactive approach to problem-solving
