Job Description
In Class Support Assistant Highbridge- TA9 3AE Five Education are looking to recruit an In-Class Support Assistant in Highbridge. As a Support Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work closely with identified children and young people, encouraging them to learn and challenge themselves. The children have a diagnosis of Special Education Needs (SEN) such as Autism or ADHD and/or mental health challenges. They will need extra help at school in the lessons and at break and lunchtimes.
Experience is not necessary, but a can-do attitude, resilience, and initiative are essential. You will need to be available 8:30-15:30. This work is term time only; the school prefers people who can offer 5 days a week but will consider people who can work a minimum of two days a week.
Responsibilities and duties: Supporting 1:1 in class or in small groups Help pupils to remain focused Build a strong relationship with the pupils and teaching staff to ensure that the pupils are achieving their potential Essential Criteria: Be empathetic, kind, and patient Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa) Two recent references, covering the last 2 years Relevant DBS/Police checks, or willing to obtain What can Five Education offer you? Subsidised initial DBS cost (you pay £62.70, this is refunded after working 20 days) Specialist support/mentoring while you are working The pay rate is £12.81* an hour. The day is 7 hours with an unpaid 30 min lunch break. Your daily rate of pay would be £83.29* but with a potential to earn more based on level of experience. *Including holiday pay
Pay: Five Education operates a PAYE payroll; this is the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin fee or employers NI. We are also proud to be an accredited Living Wage employer. Please note pay rate is for illustration and does include holiday pay.
