Flameproof/Increased Safety, to join our team. The key accountabilities for the role are the following: Assess the design of equipment in accordance with requirements in IEC60079 series Standards Prepare assessment, certification, examination and test reports in accordance with relevant procedure documents. Assess any drawing, photographic and/or descriptive documentation required to completely specify the equipment for compliance with the relevant standards. Prepare Certificates to describe in sufficient detail the equipment being certified, together with any acceptable variations in the design, including reference to any assessed documentation. Certification

work with respect to UKCA, ATEX, IECEx and North American schemes. Communicate with and, when necessary, have face to face discussions with manufacturers or their agents. Estimate the cost of carrying out an assessment, testing and/or certification exercise. Specify the sample equipment, together with any special requirements necessary to enable the complete assessment, testing and/or certification exercise to be carried out. Provide specialist advice and guidance to government departments and to manufacturers and users of equipment of a type which may be subject to certification by SGS. Reviewing, Checking and countersigning the work of others in specific areas of work. Qualifications Essential Technical qualification gained through higher education in Mechanical Engineering. Experience in the assessment and certification of electrical and mechanical equipment in accordance with relevant Ex Standards Desirable Degree level qualification in Mechanical/Electrical engineering.
