Job Purpose To provide flexible support for a boy with complex needs. Location We are seeking a personal assistant to support a 15-year-old boy who has multiple health/mobility issues, to give his family some respite. He is non-verbal but loves trains. His PA needs to be able to assist with feeding and personal care (changing pads) and will use a hoist for transfers. Some experience with epilepsy would be an advantage. Required Characteristics Flexible and reliable Experience with young people Knowledge/experience with epilepsy Able to use hoist (training can be organized) Driver with own car and relevant class of business insurance an advantage but not essential as we have a mobility car Summary Terms and Conditions The rate of pay for this position is £13.00 per hour. Hours of work: Up to 20 hrs monthly, evenings, weekends, and school holidays. Flexible, to discuss at the interview stage. 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata paid leave, inclusive of bank holidays. Free Careskills training. The post is subject to the following: A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer. Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
