JOB PURPOSE To assist the Food & Beverage Manager in planning, preparation and delivery of a first class experience to members, guests and visitors. At all times adhering to all Club and regulatory policies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Staffing To supervise the day to day management of all F&B staff. To assist in managing and motivating the front of house staff, to ensure the smooth running of the bar and kitchen operations with the aim of always offering a first class experience to members, guests and visitors. To be aware and assist where necessary, in drafting staff rotas. Responsible for employee relation issues and review any incidents with the Food & Beverage manager and/or General Manager when Food & Beverage Manager is off duty. Ensure staff are aware of and trained in agreed procedures for use of bar EPOS system. General To work alongside, and when requested, deputise for the Food & Beverage Manager when off duty. To serve and work behind the bar / lounge and all catering areas, ensuring a good rapport with members, guests, visitors and other staff members. When required, support and assist the Food & Beverage Manager in their duties. Continual awareness of all event bookings on a daily basis and to escalate any issues or discrepancies requiring resolution to the Food & Beverage Manager. To maintain high levels of cleanliness and tidiness within the kitchen and bar service areas, cellar, storeroom and courtyard, ensuring Food Hygiene Regulations are adhered to and correct cellar and Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times. Ensure a pleasant dining experience in all areas by working in conjunction with the Food & Beverage Manager and Head Chef. Assist with setting up and organising functions areas, including re-arranging of furniture, tables and chairs in preparation for each individual function. Liaising with Head Chef to ensure catering is delivered in time and of a high standard. When deputising, ensure that bar equipment is regularly checked, maintained and repaired where necessary. Assist with ordering of bar stock and receiving deliveries. Opening and closing the bar as set out in the Club’s guidelines and in accordance with the Club’s licensing hours. Responsible for opening and closing of club house (activating and deactivating security system), as required and maintain high level of security at all times. Attend training as and when required. Health and Safety To be aware and comply with the Health and Safety Policy operated by the Club. This includes the reporting of accidents and awareness of the location of fire exits, fire extinguishers and first aid kits and being fully aware of evacuation procedure. To be aware comply with all hygiene regulations, reporting any failings to the Food & Beverage Manager or Supervisor. This includes self-reporting of illnesses which are incompatible with serving food and beverages. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
