Role Description We are on the lookout for an Assistant Operations Accountant to join our Financial Food division here at Princes! The core of the role will be to assist the Senior Operations Accountants in ensuring the financial accounts of assigned sites and SBA's are produced impartially, on a timely, accurate, and efficient basis, and that all necessary procedural controls and policies are duly implemented and observed.

The role is based at our Head Office in Liverpool City Centre, but due to the nature of the geographical locations, a driving licence will be essential for the role. You may be required to travel once a month to Wisbech and Long Sutton.

Principal Responsibilities: Assist in the production of monthly management and financial accounts in accordance with prescribed formats, timescales and procedures. Create manual and automatic accruals/provisions/prepayments for all cost items. Post payroll journals once received from the Payroll team and agency, understanding variances and investigating any issues. Produce and post BBE provisions for the Ops department and challenge any commercial decisions. Review overhead cost centres, fully understand the cost profile and present results to factory management team. Raise purchase orders and post ad hoc journals as required. Assist in the creation of assets, monitor asset under construction balances and capitalise in line with company policy and depreciation of capital projects. Provide financial data and analysis to operational management, Finance Managers or Group Finance as required. Assist in the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts at prescribed frequencies. Present financial information to factory management team. Produce and justify factory budgets and forecasting for responsible areas. Interpret, communicate and enforce Group rules, policies and procedures. Identify opportunities to reduce lead-times for the production of management accounts via an ongoing plan of process improvement. Role Requirements Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Studying for a professional qualification Previous experience of manufacturing would be advantageous Proficient in Excel Experience of SAP Able to work to tight deadlines Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong analytical skills Good organisational skills Proactive, able to use initiative and react quickly Ability to deal with staff and management at all levels Willingness to travel.
