This is a truly exciting time to begin or continue your career with our first-class business. As a forensic analyst, you will be responsible for the analytical analysis of trace material using (for example) scanning electron microscopy, gas chromatography, and/or FTIR. this link . In addition, all successful applicants will be required to undertake drug and alcohol testing prior to commencing employment. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities The successful candidate will: Undertake analysis of trace material, as generated during item examinations. Complete/project manage validation research projects, including the production of compliance reports for accreditation. Produce and assess generated results for use in forensic cases. Carry out analysis as per standard operating procedures to required timescales. Be responsible for the integrity and continuity of exhibits. Communicate with other scientists as appropriate throughout the lifetime of a case. The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for someone with a degree-level qualification, or equivalent, in chemistry or a related subject; or demonstrable professionally-gained experience to the same standard. Other desirable attributes include: Demonstrating good communication and organisational skills. Having high levels of resilience and flexibility and the ability to work to deadlines. Communicate and work proactively with others (both colleagues and customers), focusing on a collective goal. The right person to thrive in this role will be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and possess the competence and team spirit to support others and contribute to a positive culture. Here at EFS, integrity and customer focus are at the heart of everything we do, and the ability to own issues and actively support their resolution alongside embracing continuous improvement with active involvement would be a distinct advantage and will see you excel in this role. If you have knowledge of working in a laboratory environment using analytical equipment (e.g., scanning electron microscopy, gas chromatography, FTIR, etc.), preferably within a forensic capacity, then we would love to hear from you.
