Position Summary and Responsibilities We are seeking a Principal FPGA Compliance and Verification Engineer to join our team. This key individual will work within a multi-disciplinary project team consisting of FPGA engineers, electrical hardware engineers, software engineers, and verification engineers. The role will serve as the primary interface between the FPGA functional team and the Product Assurance team. The primary focus of this role is to drive FPGA development, verification, and release processes in alignment with ECSS standards and requirements, ensuring compliance throughout the product lifecycle. The successful candidate will oversee the creation and review of FPGA-related documentation to ensure it meets ECSS standards and adheres to internal processes. A solid understanding of FEE operation will also be essential, as the candidate will generate test plans and procedures to ensure customer and internal requirements are met. Active participation in hands-on testing and verification of FPGA deliverables will be a key part of this role. The candidate will also act as a knowledge resource for ECSS standards and processes, supporting the Product Assurance engineer. Essential Experience Knowledge of development standards used in Space, Aerospace, or Defense, preferably ECSS-Q-ST-60-03C and ECSS-E-ST-20-40C. Proven experience ensuring compliance across the full FPGA development lifecycle. Expertise in verifying robust, high-reliability coding. Development of FPGA verification and validation plans and quality assurance procedures. Experience with version control tools such as Subversion. Familiarity with requirements management tools like Jama. Experience with issue tracking software such as Redmine or Jira. Hands-on experience in developing VHDL FPGA code, using FPGA simulation tools, and creating UVVM testbenches. Strong skills in writing verification and validation plans. A methodical approach to verification testing and documenting results. Ability to communicate effectively, with a focus on delivering high-quality customer-facing documentation.
