The Role: FPGA implementation, including requirements capture, RTL coding, and physical stages. Definition of conceptual structures and architectures for FPGA designs. Writing and executing test-bench code and performing other IV&V activities. Ensuring adherence to safety-related standards and contributing to their development and maintenance. Leveraging Model-Based Design techniques using tools like MATLAB/Simulink for modelling and simulation. Managing requirements tracking, configuration control, incident reporting, and creating project documentation. Providing lab support during hardware development stages. Communicating effectively within and across teams, including participating in design reviews. What are we looking for in our next FPGA Engineer? A degree or higher in electrical/electronic engineering or equivalent. Proven track record in FPGA/ASIC design with comprehensive knowledge of VHDL and practical project experience. Familiarity with Model-Based Design using tools like MATLAB/Simulink (preferred). Experience working within formal FPGA/ASIC design processes. A broad understanding of digital electronics and other engineering domains (e.g., systems, analogue/power electronics, mechanical, motors). Knowledge of best practices in the design lifecycle, including gated design phases and design reviews.
